Get Started Planning Volunteer Fun for Wacky Holidays in July

The month of July has some fun wacky holidays to celebrate volunteers. Did you know July is National Blueberry Month? Pick a day or a week or the whole month and bring in blueberry muffins for all your volunteers. That’s just the start. We have many more ideas for appreciating volunteers during the month of July. And it’s time to start planning them.

We are keeping with a food theme here. Things like Eggplant and Lettuce Month is July. How about a refreshing salad that uses eggplant in it? Because July is also Sandwich Generation Month, try planning a luncheon for your volunteers. Prep a buffet with plenty of build-your-own-sandwich fixings. Have the volunteers come up with the names of the sandwiches. Of course, add your eggplant and lettuce salad to the buffet.

As a way to help thank your volunteers, record each name of the sandwich they come up with, then personalize a button or magnet for each with the name of the sandwich, the date, and the volunteer’s name. It will make a great tribute to a fun lunch, all for the appreciation of your volunteers.

By the way, July is also Mango and Melon Month, so add to your buffet lunch menu a fruit salad using mangos and melons, of course. But, don’t stop there. Stay tuned to this site for more wacky holidays in July to use for fun volunteer appreciation.
