Weird Contest Week in August

We have found another fun way to help you appreciate your volunteers. The third week of August is Weird Contest Week. We are busy working on some fun ways to celebrate our volunteers with weird contests. We think you can come up with some crazy and enjoyable ideas as well.

One of our crazy ideas is folded paper napkins that will be worn as corsages for our volunteers. Then we have boxes that will be set up on the main office table with plenty of pennies. A box for each volunteer who makes a corsage. All week long, everybody votes on their favorites by putting a penny into the box labeled for the volunteer. We have a book on origami paper folding if a volunteer would like to participate but needs some help. Paper napkins in a number of different colors will be available for our corsages.

Of course, we are planning some simple customized gifts to give to the winners. So far, we have several ideas for winners. Most votes, judge’s pick, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up, Miss or Mister Congeniality (the one who embraces the whole idea and has a great time with it) most complicated corsage, and simplest design.

This is just one idea, but we hope it gives you more ideas for a fun way to show your appreciation to your volunteers. Weird Contest Week can be a great opportunity for you. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Simple but silly and fun is what you can go for. Making the work environment a fun place to be is not only a great way to say thanks to your volunteers, but it also helps you recruit and retain them.

So have some fun with Weird Contest Week this year.

I wanna play! This sounds like a really fun, simple (and weird) little contest that volunteers can embrace!
